Visitors can sample international foods, buy handmade items from artisans around the world, meet new people and sample traditional musical performances all in two and a half days at Luxexpo The Box in Luxembourg-Kirchberg.

There are more than 50 country stands selling everything from traditional tar music to traditional Czech open-faced sandwiches called Chlebicky – with all proceeds going directly to charities in Luxembourg and around the world.

It is a multicultural event

The International Bazaar is Luxembourg’s annual multicultural celebration, featuring fun, stylish fundraising events that give you a chance to shop for good causes around the globe while meeting people and learning more about different cultures.

This event takes place in a warm environment of multi-culturalism with over 73 stands representing food and products from different regions around the globe, organised by volunteers representing 50+ nations. Alongside these stands there will also be dance and music performances to add festiveness.

Due to the Covid pandemic, the 2020 was cancelled but in 2021 it took place under less constrictive conditions and was successful due to an impressive team of volunteers working tirelessly on its organization.

This event sees over 50 countries are represented at 75 stalls from 75 stallholders from 75 different cultures. For instance, France offers an immersive sensory journey featuring leather goods, silk from Lyon and traditional know-how; Kenya and Colombia showcase local drinks and dishes such as tea, coffee and empanadas with children’s corner offerings also available.

It is a charity event

The annual event is an experience to remember! Boasting over 73 stalls featuring goods from all around the globe ranging from clothing and jewellery to food and beverages – and best of all – proceeds go directly towards charity!

The Bazaar raises money for charities in 39 countries around the world. Many projects focus on combatting poverty through education and vocational training programs, with South Sudan’s medical centre handling approximately 2,500 cases every month – one such centre being highlighted at this year’s event – while closer to home such as Plooschter Project has also received support; for instance registering as stem cell donors can save the lives of leukaemia patients.

Be surprised to learn that all aspects of the Bazaar are run entirely by volunteers – from event organisers and staff at each stall – ensuring all earnings go directly to charitable causes. Members of the organisation nominate charities they would like funds allocated towards; nominations are then reviewed by an executive committee committee for approval or rejection.
